新井躍大
写真家 / 「古道具屋 八九十」主宰 2002年生まれ、大東文化大学国際関係学部在学。
祖母の影響で幼少期からカメラに触れ、自然と写真の世界へ惹き込まれる。高校時代に訪れたカンボジアをきっかけにアジア諸国をバックパックで巡り始め、大学在学中にはインド・デリー大学へ留学。一年をかけて国中を旅し、そこに生きる人々や日々の暮らしの営みを記録した。
写真展「多様性」の開催や写真集『gift』の出版を経て、その収益を元に家族写真を贈る「gift project」を展開。近年は国内外の伝統的な手仕事や古物の美しさに魅了され、「古道具屋 八九十」を設立。その土地の風土や手仕事、時の流れと共に紡がれる光景を追い求め、今も旅を続けている。
Yakuto Arai
Born in 2002. Currently enrolled at the Faculty of International Relations, Daito Bunka University.
Influenced by his grandmother, he picked up a camera in early childhood and was naturally drawn into the world of photography. A trip to Cambodia during high school inspired him to begin backpacking across Asia. During university, he studied abroad at the University of Delhi in India, spending a year traveling throughout the country to document the lives of the local people and their daily routines.
Following his photo exhibition "Diversity" and the publication of his photo book "gift", he launched the "gift project", using the proceeds to gift family portraits. In recent years, captivated by the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and antiques both domestic and international, he established "Kodouguya Hakuto." He continues his travels today, capturing scenes woven together by local culture, handcrafts, and the flow of time.
